My name is Susan Snell was written by Sue Snell to tell what happened at the Black Prom from her perspective. It was published in 1986.
Sue writes it to defend herself and Tommy and to earn enough money with it to go to a place, where noone knows her. She indirectly implies, that she has lost her will to live and has begun embracing death because of the events in Chamberlaine and the attempts afterwards to turn her into a scapegoat.
