For those who are unaware, the book Carrie stated that Carrie White does have Grandparents who live in Motton, Maine; this been a town that shares a border with Chamberlain where the events of Carrie take place.

Her Grandparents are Judith Brigham and Harold Allison; the latter been Margaret White's stepfather after her biological father - John Brigham - was killed in a gun battle at the "Jolly Roadhouse" which he and Judith owned.

Despite Judith and Harold getting married, Margaret - who attended fundamentalist prayer meetings following the death of her father, which (along with her mental illness) led to her becoming a religious zealot - grew to hate them both; accusing them of living in sin and ultimately cutting ties with them.

Margaret's final point of contact with Judith and Harold was in a letter where she once again accused them of living in sin, with her becoming pregnant with Carrie some time later.

In the novel and films, Carrie never tried to track them down.

However, what if she did?

Hypothetically, and using the original 1976 film for this idea, what if - after Carrie revealed her Telekinetic powers to her mother (gaining more confidence as now her mother's dominance over her was reduced greatly) - she actually traveled to Motton, Maine and was able to locate Judith and Harold?

While this would obviously be an emotionally charged meeting since Judith and Harold had no idea that Margaret had had a daughter, let along that their granddaughter was now about to attend Prom - and with the added fact that Judith's mother, Sadie Cochran, also had Telekinesis (if Carrie reveals her power to them both) - how do you think this would play out?

- Would Judith and Harold ultimately dismiss Carrie after the sour way that their relationship with Margaret ended?

- Would this reunion be an overall neutral affair - neither particularly good or bad?

- Would it be a happier reunion, with Carrie finally having family members who genuinely care and want to have a good relationship with her?

- Would this meeting potentially alter the later events before and after the Prom, or would Carrie still meet her end on that fateful night?

The following is an alternative version of my hypothetical "What if Carrie didn't 'snap' at the Prom following the prank?" thread - this time focusing on the timeline of the 1976 Carrie film and continuing into its 1999 sequel, The Rage: Carrie 2.

As before, it's something for you guys to ponder over, since a lot of people sympathize with Carrie and wish for her to get a happier ending, while the idea of her meeting her telekinetic half-sister from the 1999 sequel is something that I feel a fair few people would like to see.

- Returning to the Prom during the events of the 1976 film, Tommy Ross and Carrie White are both elected as Prom King and Prom Queen - due to Chris Hargensen and her friends rigging the vote as part of her revenge plan, with Chris and her boyfriend Billy Nolan hiding under the stage to await the moment they can dump the bucket of pig's blood on Carrie.

As in the original, Sue Snell sneaks into the prom to watch Carrie and Tommy; happy to see them win Prom King and Queen before noticing the rope and bucket and then seeing Chris and Billy under the stage. Before she can act, she's grabbed by Miss Collins and thrown out as she believes that Sue has snuck in to cause trouble.

- In this situation, however, Tommy is left concerned by Sue's actions and starts looking around; aware of Carrie's status as a bullied outcast and wondering if something bad might be about to happen to her as a result.

In this situation, he sees the bucket moments before Chris pulls the rope; instinctively pushing Carrie out of the way to avoid it raining down on her, although this means he instead gets it all over him - with it notably getting into his eyes and leaving him blind to whats going on. With the crowd in stunned silence and Tommy unable to see, the bucket falls and hits him on the head - killing him by breaking his skull.

Unlike the laughter in the original version, however, the room is instead one of shock (since it wasn't Carrie who got the blood on her) and with Carrie crawling over to Tommy and trying in vain to wake him up.

- As several prom-goers and teachers run onto the stage to check on Tommy and try to resuscitate him, Miss Collins and some of the other prom-goers this time go to the back of the stage and are able to apprehend Chris and Billy before they can escape (them having realized their prank had gone wrong).

Seeing Chris as been the one responsible, Carrie is left furious but doesn't 'explode' like in the original; instead telekinetically slamming the doors shut when she notices Norma and some of the other prom-goers trying to leave (thus with the teachers apprehending the group as well as its realized that they're Chris' friends) before she goes over to the door that Sue is locked behind and opening it before grabbing Sue - demanding to know if she had something to do with this.

- However, Carrie calms down when she telepathically senses that not only did Sue have nothing to do with it, but that she was the one who asked Tommy to take her to the Prom as an act of kindness; Sue feeling Carrie prying through her mind and realizing that Carrie has powers as a result but remaining quiet about it for now.

Releasing her, Carrie lets Sue go to Tommy's side (despite Miss Collins' objections) so she can be with him and help to try waking him up, although it becomes clear to everyone that Tommy is dead after failed attempts to resuscitate him; both Carrie and Sue been left heartbroken over this.

- With Chris and Billy taken away by the Police for suspicion of manslaughter, Tommy taken away in an Ambulance - later pronounced dead officially - and the teachers taking down the names of Chris' friends who tried to leave after the incident (as well as Sue's name) before they'll launch a full investigation, Sue offers to drive Carrie home as the prom ends prematurely; the two young women both left in despair after what happened and bonding more over Tommy during the drive, although Sue leaves out the 'telepathy' situation for the time being.

- Arriving at Carrie's house, Sue accompanies her inside to make sure that Carrie is okay - which ends up saving her life when Margaret, having gone insane from believing that Carrie is a witch that must be killed, attempts to murder her own daughter. With Sue saving Carrie from the first attempt, Margaret attempts to kill Sue as well - with Carrie angrily reacting to this as she uses her Telekinesis to save Sue before both women flee back to Sue's house; Sue's mother calling the Police and with them arresting Margaret when she attempts to break in to the Snell's residence and injures Sue's father when he tries to disarm her.

- Following everything, Carrie takes up residence with the Snell family for the time being as her mother is deemed mentally unstable and is sent to Arkham. Elsewhere, despite her dad's attempts to remove/lessen her sentence, Chris and Billy are both charged with manslaughter following the death of Tommy Ross, while Chris' friends who aided in the prank are all expelled and forced to retake the year again at other schools. Thankfully, Sue is found innocent of any wrongdoing regarding the prank, while Carrie's insistence on leniency due to Tommy been Sue's boyfriend and Sue saving her life later that night results in Sue only receiving a reprimand for her sneaking into the Prom.

- Both Carrie and Sue attend Tommy's funeral and eventually graduate, with Sue now fully aware of Carrie's psychic powers (Carrie having shown her more of what she could do in the interim) and - with all that had happened - deciding to follow a career in counseling to try to prevent anything like this happening again; Carrie been persuaded by her to follow the same career path as her telepathy could prove incredibly useful in helping kids with their various issues and seeing potential problems before they occur.

As such, both Sue and Carrie successfully become counselors and both get a job at the new Bates High School; built to fit with more "modern" schooling while the old building is torn down. At some point after that, Margaret ultimately passes away in Arkham (Carrie having had supervised visits following Margaret's attempts to murder her), with Margaret sadly never re-connecting with her daughter beforehand as she holds onto her beliefs until the end, which leaves Carrie distraught.

- Since there was no "Black Prom" or widespread revelation of Carrie's telekinesis, Barbara Lang doesn't hide Ralph White's identity from her daughter, Rachel Lang, as there's no need to; only stating that he left when she was a child.

Sadly, Barbara's schizophrenia and religious belief that her daughter is possessed by a demon - due to Rachel's emerging telekinetic power as a child - results in Barbara been taken to Arkham while Rachel (along with her dog Walter) was placed into care, albeit with her foster parents Boyd and Emilyn both been neglectful towards her and with Boyd only doing it for financial reasons, since fostering Rachel gives them an extra $300 a month.

While Carrie does get a feeling of familiarity with Rachel during their few times of interaction before the events in 1999, it doesn't become clear until the day when Rachel's friend Lisa Parker attempts to end her own life; having lost her virginity after sleeping with Eric Stark - one of the school's football team - only for him to cruelly break up with her and tell Lisa that she meant nothing to him, as he and some of the other football players are only sleeping with certain girls for "points" (similar to the real-life Spur Posse).

- Telepathically sensing Lisa's distress, Carrie heads outside to see her preparing to jump off the roof and tries to talk her down; this been noticed by Rachel before she runs out to see her depressed friend indeed leap from the roof.

Seeing this (and as Carrie attempts to use her telekinesis to subtly slow Lisa's speed of descent), Rachel's telekinesis activates for the first time in years; blowing open all of the locker doors in one part of the school. This is sensed by Carrie and throws her off guard as a result; forcing her to use her telekinesis to more drastically and obviously in order to slow Lisa's descent - resulting in Lisa still hitting the car but been only injured and knocked unconscious, with Rachel confused as to how Lisa's speed decreased suddenly and guessing Carrie had something to do with it, but for now focusing on tending to her injured friend.

As Carrie calls Sue over a walkie-talkie to ring for an Ambulance and get the area clear after stating what had happened (revealing that Rachel saw her use "you-know-what"), Carrie takes Rachel to her office - with Sue seeing the end result of the lockers all been blown open and overseeing Lisa been taken to the hospital.

- As Carrie talks to Rachel in her office and gets out Rachel's file, she's shocked to see her father's name listed as Rachel's father. Combined with Rachel telekinetically knocking a cup off the desk in her distressed state, Carrie later visits Barbara at Arkham and is able to confirm that Ralph White is indeed both hers and Rachel's father; making them half-sisters.

With Barbara having recovered a lot from her time in Arkham as she's approaching the point where she'll be allowed to leave, she is more accepting of Carrie's display of telekinesis than Margaret was (Carrie explaining that it isn't demonic but rather a recessive trait that's passed down through the bloodlines with men been the "carriers" of the gene; having done some research into her own family history and learning of her Great-Grandmother Sadie Cochran also having telekinesis), with Barbara giving her blessing for Carrie to reveal their family connection to Rachel.

Sadly, Carrie still ends up leaving Arkham upset as when she asks about her father, Barbara admits that he never said anything about her; implying that Ralph indeed never cared about her.

- With Rachel in a better state of mind as Lisa is still alive (albeit recovering following her injuries - with one notably to her head), Carrie calls her in to talk; revealing the truth about them been half-sisters and that they both have telekinetic powers, with that been how Carrie was able to save Lisa's life.

So, with the two meeting and the revelation been made, how do you think this would play out?

= Would it still end tragically with Rachel rejecting Carrie's attempts to bond with her and still meeting her end at the "Black Party"?

= Would it improve things slightly and help make Carrie and Rachel's lives a bit better but otherwise only alter the story a bit?

= Would it improve things a lot, with Carrie and Rachel forming a genuine relationship as half-sisters and successfully bringing the actions of Mark, Eric and the other football players to justice (instead of them been able to get away with their actions until the "Black Party")?

= Would Carrie and Rachel both been alive and meeting provoke other changes, including the possible return of their father as the story's true main villain - especially if the name "Ralph White" was just another name used by a particular Stephen King villain?

Curious to see what you guys think.

(Bit of a hypothetical scenario for you guys to ponder over, since I've seen many people sympathize with Carrie and wish for her to get a happier ending. Question is, would she get one here?)

- In this scenario, Carrie and Tommy are still crowned Prom King and Queen - with Carrie getting the pig's blood dumped on her head and Tommy been hit by the falling bucket; knocking him unconscious and injuring him.

(In the novel he was simply knocked out by the bucket hitting him and later died from been trapped in the burning building, with it been the 1976 and 2013 movies where the bucket hitting him kills him, while in the 2002 film it severely injures him - with Tommy not breathing and it been difficult to feel his pulse).

- While the crowd laughs at Carrie and she hears her mother's warning about how they would all laugh at her - with her rage bubbling up inside from the humiliation - her attention this time returns to Tommy, since he was one of the few people who was genuinely nice to her and now his life is in danger.

The laughter stops as the crowd watches Carrie use her telekinesis to levitate Tommy's body into her arms; Carrie still been extremely furious at this moment but with her anger this time been more quiet and direct like a blade, instead of the explosive outburst mixed with her telekinetic powers that we're more familiar with (like when someone who's extremely angry goes silent - which just makes everyone around them more tense).

- Moving off the stage, she uses her telekinesis to force the crowd to split apart and keep everyone away from her, as if trapped by invisible walls.

Seeing Tina trying to escape and sensing she had something to do with the prank, however, she telekinetically slams the doors shut around the gym to prevent escape before telekinetically grabbing Tina - restraining her in the air with no-one to help her and no way for her to escape.

Quiet but furious, Carrie demands to know who was responsible for the prank - pointing out that Tommy's life is at risk as a result and if he dies, then she'll find out who was responsible and bring her own "judgement" on everyone involved her humiliation.

- Tina initially refuses despite been afraid, to which Carrie telekinetically attacks her internal organs - causing Tina to scream in agony and tearfully admit that Chris Hargensen was responsible to stop Carrie hurting her; revealing Chris wanting revenge for losing her prom tickets after leaving Miss Desjardin's detention due to the locker room incident (when Carrie had her first period), the killing of the pig days earlier, putting its blood in the bucket and the swapping of the ballots with altered duplicates to make Tommy and Carrie win Prom King and Queen so the blood could be dumped on Carrie, with Chris and her boyfriend Billy been the ones to pull the rope after sneaking in - revealing in turn where the real ballots were hidden.

Having made Tina reveal the truth to everyone and with Miss Desjardin indeed finding the real ballots, Carrie tossed Tina to the floor; telling her and everyone else involved in the prank to pray for Tommy's survival "or not even God will save you from me" before wishing her congratulations on the real Prom King and Queen; finishing by stating that it's probably best not to don the crowns as "take it from me, days old pig's blood is not something you want on you".

- With that, Carrie leaves the Gym - allowing the doors to open again - and gets into Tommy's car using his keys; laying Tommy on the backseat while she sits in the front passenger seat and uses her telekinesis to levitate the car, with her flying it over Chamberlain to the hospital.

(Considering she was able to toss Billy Nolan's car like a toy and devastate Chamberlain in the original story, I think her making the car fly isn't that unusual in comparison).

- Upon reaching the hospital and carrying Tommy inside, he's immediately rushed off to the emergency unit to check his injuries, although Carrie has to leave due to the pig's blood covering her and the fact she has no clean clothes with her - with her starting to walk home before been intercepted by Sue Snell, who was on her way to the hospital after learning what had happened at the Prom and offers Carrie a ride home after learning that Tommy is safe.

During the drive, the two talk; Sue been understandably fearful of Carrie's powers despite Carrie's anger having mostly subsided (along with Carrie having telepathically learned both that Sue had played no part in the prank and that she was pregnant with Tommy's child), with Carrie revealing more of the bullying she endured while younger from other kids as well as from her life at home - in particular regarding her mother's abusive nature and extreme religious beliefs where everything is "sinful".

- With Sue joining Carrie at her home (Carrie getting cleaned and putting on fresh clothes), Margaret's attempts at killing Carrie by stabbing her with a butcher's knife is prevented by Sue - with Carrie disarming and restraining her mother with her telekinesis when Margaret tries to stab Sue as well.

With Margaret restrained and screaming about Carrie having "the devil inside her", Sue - convincing Carrie that this is the best thing to do as Margaret is "not mentally well" - rings the Police to inform them of Margaret's attempts to kill her daughter.

With the Police arriving to take Margaret away and Tommy surviving this time thanks to Carrie's actions (along with everyone else at the Prom not been brutally killed), how do you think the story would change following this?

In all 3 film adaptations of Carrie, her mother, Margaret White, was shown to be an abusive, religious fanatic, who not only abused Carrie, but locked her up in her "prayer closet" to "pray for forgiveness" when she thought that Carrie had "sinned". However, Carrie's father, Ralph, was never seen in the films, and was believed to have died, possibly before Carrie was born.

In the 1976 adaptation of Carrie, Margaret told Carrie that Ralph raped her, and that's how Carrie was conceived. Considering the fact that Margaret was an insane religious fanatic, who abused Carrie on a regular basis, I can't help but wonder if Ralph White played a role in that? It makes me wonder what happened between Margaret and Ralph? Was Ralph the one who put those crazy religious notions in Margaret's head? Or was Margaret already a crazy religious fanatic when Ralph met her? What do you think?

Also, considering the fact that Carrie had telekinesis, and her mother didn't, is it possible that her father, Ralph, had telekinesis, and passed it onto Carrie? Carrie's telekinesis had to have come from one of them. What do you think happened between Margaret and Ralph White? Because considering all of the horrible things that Carrie did with her telekinesis at her prom, one has to wonder if she wasn't the first person in her family to use telekinetic powers?

Hey guys, I remember there was a mini Carrie video game made to advertise the 2013 Carrie remake. In the game, you break into Carrie's house, either playing as yourself or as Chris Hargensen with Billy Nolan as your lookout. I watched an old gameplay of it on YouTube, but it’s the “play as yourself” mode and the quality is really bad. If there's a wayback machine link I could get to play it myself, that would be great.

Tommy is killed when the bucket falls on his head and Carrie freaks out and mourns him, she notices Kenny, Freddy, Norma , and Tina try to escape but Kenny notices carrie looking at them and Freddy tries to get out but is trapped by the doors. Norma flips out and screams for help and Tina freaks out and Kenny calms her down. Miss Collins thinks Cora Wilson had something to do with it (She had been throwing tampons at Carrie) and she slaps and grabs her. Norma trips over a Dale Norbert (Sprayed by firehose) and hits her head on the table, breaking her neck. Alice Litten tries to climb out by using the bleachers but her foot is trapped then she is thrown down, Tina tries to escape with Kenny but she is dislocated by the bleachers along with Alice. Kenny is killed when the bleachers crush him, (nearly bisected) The beak Films the disaster only for Carrie destroy the disco light above him which explodes on his head. Dale tries to free Freddy’s body but his fingers get sliced off. Peter tabor, Alice boyfriend , Trudy , Katie , and the rest burn alive

I found this random photo when I was searching for "Cynthia Schuler Larsen" who played the role "Alice Litten" in the 1976 version

I got fascinated by the photo and began to come out some question "Is this her, the actress who play Alice ???"

Why I thought like that, here some reason:

• In the black and white photo, she got visible cheeckbones which make her cheeck puffier compared to Alice in the movie whose cheeckbones are also visible and puffy cheeck. Also there are visible nasolabial folds at their nose too when they smile or laugh

• They presumably got same shade hair color and presumably have same hair lenght, although in the movie Alice's hair was tied up whereas in the photo she left her hair untied but pretty much the same lenght

• They also got the same almond-shaped eyes

What do you think, is the person in the black and white photo is Cynthia who played Alice ???
